MSGT Raymond L. Echevarria
Laura PT Echevarria Powers - I have to say thank you to Jason for all his hard work on our Vietnam soldiers. My father Sgt. Maj. Raymond Echevarria of RT Arizona has been MIA since October 3, 1966. RT Arizona was a seven-man reconnaissance inserted by helicopter into a landing zone in the Savannakhet Province of Laos. When Jason approached us to see if the family wanted to share "our" story with the public we were hesitant. But through more communication with Jason my brother (Ray) decided to write a story about the loss of our father and the painful ripple effect we all feel to this day, of not knowing where our father is. Jason presented the story with photos supplied by us and created a wonderful, although painful tribute to our father.
If you have a story you want told he's the guy. He cares about the families and the history of our MAC V SOG soldiers. Again thank you for caring keeping our stories alive. #BringThemHome #neverforgotten

- Probably close to a decade ago I was introduced to Jason by CCN brother and RT ASP Team mate Gerry Robb. I quickly learned that I had met a guy not just interested in the veterans of SOG but a skilled collector of their stories. He treated me with great respect and courtesy and with obvious kid gloves. I always remember his remark to an individual that was trying to alter Jason’s site, it was successful when he said ,” Do not try any thing as it has taken me years to gain the trust of these men.”. Jason is not just a historian he is a skilled interviewer and a master of several crafts like photography , art, wood working, metals, printing and publishing. During the time I have know Jason he has provided me with any examples of his abilities but more than anything he has become a friend.
