WHO is Jason B. Collins publisher of the Pucker Series?
Thank you for visiting the Pucker Factor website. First, why the name Pucker Factor? Well, "Pucker Factor is a military slang phrase used to describe the level of stress and/or adrenaline response to danger or a crisis situation. The term refers to the tightening of the sphincter caused by distress." I think the men of SOG would account for a high level of Pucker Factor events. Now that you have that answer, who am I? My name is Jason B. Collins, and I live in the Pacific Northwest. I was born on July 3, 1970, when many of these men of SOG were in the jungles of SEA. My interest in military history started with my own family. Many of them served in the military. Their histories always intrigued me. Wars fought in distant lands that were only a memory away. Many stories told; I wish I would written them down or record them. We take for granted these generational warriors will live forever. Sadly, the veterans of the Vietnam War are leaving us daily, and with that, their history. My objective with the Pucker Factor series and the 20th SOS Green Hornet series is to ensure these histories are not lost to time. I have made a great deal of connections over the last 10 years of both the veterans and families of soldiers and airmen that are not with us anymore either through combat-related events or have passed away. Together, both vets and families have trusted me with their histories. There are stories never shared publicy and photos never seen before. It is my honor and my privilege to showcase these and be allowed to share them publicy. J.C
